PMS Week, Anniversary Celebrations, and Garden Goals Achieved

Last week started pretty rough. It was my PMS week and between headaches, cramps, and feeling generally week and gross as well as having to pack for an anniversary camping trip with my boyfriend, I did not get to the gym AT ALL. Taking a week off was a really good decision. I let my boyfriend take care of me while I was hurting and uncomfortable physically and tired mentally. In turn I was able to do my share of the packing and organizing for the trip.

The trip went well I'm not used to blogging so I didn't take too many pictures but you can go over to my Instagram and see pictures of:

and I got to check one thing off my goals list:
Nathan and I built and planted our 4x4 Square Foot Garden!! A friend joked that we skipped a Love Fern and went straight to the Anniversary Garden. It was hard work but super fun!

We Planted:
1 Purple Heirloom Tomato Plant
1 Striped Heirloom Tomato Plant
1 Cucumber Seed
1 Sweet Corn Seed
16 Carrot Seeds
1 Collard Greens Seed
1 Thyme Plant
4 Swiss Chard Seeds
4 Garlic Cloves
1 Small Ginger Root
16 Beet Seeds
1 Basil Plant
1 Nasturtiumn Seed
9 Onion Seeds
9 Spinach Seeds
4 Marigold Plants

I wanted to go to a Core group workout today, but my stomach had other plans. (Yay period hormones) So I instead went for a 3-ish mile walk/run and am so glad I did!! (Check out my Instagram story to see me during one of the walking sections) Tomorrow I will go to Body Pump and get a full body work out. Now that I've got about a months workouts in I'm going to be changing my work out routine to get more runs in. I'm definitely faster than I was when I started back in January, but nowhere near where I want to be for the Pflugerville Deutchsenfest 5k on the 21st.

Check out my Instagram story to see work out selfies and my OOTD!

Goals for 2017

After much deliberation with myself and talking to friends I've decided that these are my goals for 2017. I realize May might be considered a little late, but I think it's perfect. I've had time to listen to my body and hear what it wants.  I have already shown myself that I am dedicated to running by walk/running the Austin-American Statesman Capitol 10k and making my goal time of 2 hours or less and I made it in 1 hour and 57 minutes.  My friend Sarah (left) and Me right before the Austin Cap 10k I have a relationship with the people at my gym and can already tell that working out has made me stronger. My boyfriend and I cleared a decent sized flower bed and planted two Salvia plants and a Succulent in about 3 hours.   White Salvia Succulent    Blue Salvia All these things have made me happy and proud of myself for doing. They have also given me a hunger for more of the same.  Tangible Milestones -Run most, if not the...
