Goals for 2017

After much deliberation with myself and talking to friends I've decided that these are my goals for 2017. I realize May might be considered a little late, but I think it's perfect. I've had time to listen to my body and hear what it wants.

I have already shown myself that I am dedicated to running by walk/running the Austin-American Statesman Capitol 10k and making my goal time of 2 hours or less and I made it in 1 hour and 57 minutes.

I have a relationship with the people at my gym and can already tell that working out has made me stronger. My boyfriend and I cleared a decent sized flower bed and planted two Salvia plants and a Succulent in about 3 hours.

All these things have made me happy and proud of myself for doing. They have also given me a hunger for more of the same.

Tangible Milestones
-Run most, if not the whole, Deutschen Pfest 5k, and every 5k after
-Build and plant a 4X4 sq. foot garden with my Boyfriend in our front yard.
-Be able to run a whole 10k

Continuous Betterment
-Continue to go to group fitness and get stronger and faster through exercise and nutrition
-Run once a week until I am stronger. Until then I don't beleive running anymore will help me in my goals.
-Not focus on weight loss as a goal
-Keep better track of my finances

Blog Goals
-Post a #donthatetheshake post at least once a month
-Post a post workout/run selfie to social media once a week
-Write a post to this blog once a week

I have even bigger goals than these, but I have learned that I do best with small well thought out goals first.

PMS Week, Anniversary Celebrations, and Garden Goals Achieved

Last week started pretty rough. It was my PMS week and between headaches, cramps, and feeling generally week and gross as well as having to pack for an anniversary camping trip with my boyfriend, I did not get to the gym AT ALL. Taking a week off was a really good decision. I let my boyfriend take care of me while I was hurting and uncomfortable physically and tired mentally. In turn I was able to do my share of the packing and organizing for the trip. The trip went well I'm not used to blogging so I didn't take too many pictures but you can go over to my Instagram and see pictures of: Picking Blackberries Camp Site and I got to check one thing off my goals list:  Nathan and I built and planted our 4x4 Square Foot Garden !! A friend joked that we skipped a Love Fern and went straight to the Anniversary Garden. It was hard work but super fun! We Planted: 1 Purple Heirloom Tomato Plant 1 Striped Heirloom Tomato Plant 1 Cucumber Seed 1 Sweet Corn Seed 16 Carrot See...
